School isn't for hanging and chatting that’s what home and Face book is for. School is for learning. And students do not need phones for learning experience. If student wants to chat with people, he has 9-12 hours after school to do that. If he wants to talk to someone in school, so he should talk to them in person during break in between class. Moreover teachers deserve a student's full attention and respect in class. Using phone in the class is the opposite.It's common among students who bring phones to classroom that they are likely to be distracted by messages from friends and family. Today most students are connected to social media 24/24 and are easily distracted and lose concentration on lectures when they receive notifications. Therefore, it leads to poor schooling performance especially for those who are less self-disciplined and sensible to surroundings. Another problem found is that using phone in class may affect other student's attention on studying.
Although social media is important to keep people up to date to what is happening in the surrounding world and keep them communicated, it is influencing students negatively. I'm facing this problem in my class; students bring their phones with them to class even though it is not allowed by the administration. They get easily distracted because will show off in front of their peers that they are doing something that is prevented. They will be sitting in class and thinking how they could use their phones without the teacher's notice. It is an important problem that should be managed by both school administration and parents. Parents should not allow their children to take their phones with them to school. Since they are not aware about the disadvantages of having a phone in class, teachers should talk to parents to prevent this problem and to increase the time by which students focuses in class.
